This is another review of an Estee Lauder lip product I bought as part of my Estee Lauder haul. Like I mentioned in the review of the shade “Irresistible”, I have become more conscious about the makeup products I buy and ensure they are of good quality and I find myself reaching for them during my regular makeup routine. I had a mini Estee Lauder haul and bought three lipstick shades and a lip gloss as part of that haul. Here I am going to review the lip gloss.

My Experience with Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Gloss Reckless Bloom:

A generous quantity of this product comes in an elegant and sturdy packaging. Royal blue cap with a clear plastic case to hold the product. The cap has the brand name and again it adds to the elegance of the product. The cap has a doe foot applicator which is typical for such kind of products and it serves its purpose well.

The color of the lip gloss appears as plum pink, but upon application, it is a lot more subdued and subtle, where it gives a gloss finish with a pink tint. And, I guess that it has neutral undertones because, warm lipstick shades stand out on my face in a very unflattering manner, but this one did not look unnatural on my face. Rather, it complimented well with dark smokey eye look or some dramatic eye makeup look. It has very minute shimmer particles and once the gloss and color is gone, those pesky little particles disappear too, and it works for me because, I dislike the left-over glitter particles on my face.

The finish is like the usual lip gloss– it adds shine and glitter to lips, but like I mentioned it does not have annoying glitter particles that go all over the place and it does not look inappropriate as most high shine lip products do. Although I personally prefer matte finish, in this case I can make an exception because, the finish of this product is extremely pretty and does not look outlandish on my face.

The lasting power is obviously like the usual lip gloss. It lasts few hours and wipes off completely without a trace after a meal. It does not stain lips or leave glitter particles behind. The product is well made and does feel like a high-end product. However, since this gloss retails for $26, they might seem a bit too steep for some and there are cheaper and equally good alternatives as well like lip gloss by Loreal and Maybelline, which are equally amazing and affordable.

Pros of Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Gloss Reckless Bloom:

  • The packaging is very sturdy and elegant and it does feel like a high-end product
  • Comes in a good size tube
  • It has a very subtle fragrance which vanishes soon after
  • The color is warm pink tone which adds a subtle tint to lips with high shine. It pairs well with dark or dramatic eye makeup
  • There are 16 shades to choose from and all the shades combined cover a wide range of color spectrum

Cons of Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Gloss Reckless Bloom:

  • Availability can be an issue for some, but I guess they do ship worldwide
  • It can be a little too expensive for some and it is perfectly fine if one wants to substitute it with a drugstore dupe
