My Experience with NYX Velvet Matte Lipstick Beach Casual:

The lipstick comes in a black-colored round plastic tube with a matte finish. The brand name and range name is printed on the tube in simple white fonts. The tube bears the shade name and ingredients list on its side. There is a sticker at the base of the tube that bears a shade name and number.

The neck of the tube is transparent and one can easily spot the shade from there. The lipstick is the regular bullet type with a slanted tip that helps with precise application. The cap of the lipstick shuts satisfactorily making an audible click sound. Overall, the packaging of the lipstick is decent and travel friendly.

“Beach Casual” is a peachy n*de shade. The color is quite pale and suitable for fair skin tones particularly. It will surely wash out deeper complexions. This shade goes well with my medium fair skin tone well and does not wash me out. It looks best with dark smoky eyes. I paired it up with green smoky eyes and it looked so stunning.

The color is subtle and can be worn anytime and anywhere without any second thought. The lipstick is decently pigmented and it imparts a semi-opaque coverage in a single swipe. I need to apply two coats of this lip color to hide pigmented lips completely. Usually, such pale shades have the tendency to give a streaky finish, but this one goes evenly on the lips in a single swipe. The finish of this lipstick is nice and matte. There is no significant sheen or shimmer in this lipstick.

The texture of the lipstick is soft and smooth. It glides effortlessly on the lips. It may tug a little while gliding on dry lips, so it is advised to properly exfoliate and moisturize the lips. Since it is a matte lip color, it has the tendency to cling to the dry patches of the lips. It slightly settles into the fine lines of the lips. The lipstick does not budge at all. It is kind of smudgeproof. The lipstick has a tendency to transfer a little. The formula is lightweight and feels comfortable on the lips. It does not have that thick or waxy kind of texture. The lipstick formula is not really moisturizing. My lips feel dry after a few hours of application, so it is necessary to keep the lips hydrated and nourished.

The lasting power is average and it stays for around 4 hours on my lips. The color fades after a full meal and it requires reapplication. Removing the lipstick is easy; any good makeup remover will do the job perfectly.
