Givenchy Khol Couture Waterproof Retractable Eyeliner 03 Turquoise Review

I have wanted to review a couple of Givenchy products since ages. I don’t know what it is about them, but every time I sit down to pen the review, I find something missing. Either the product pictures have not come out well, or I can’t find the look I created with them or something else! It is so maddening! It feels like there is a jinx! Anyway! I’m going to try to break the jinx with this Givenchy Khol Couture Waterproof Retractable Eyeliner 03 Turquoise.

My Experience with Givenchy Khol Couture Waterproof Retractable Eyeliner 03 Turquoise:

Packaging:  The Givenchy Kohl Couture comes in a white retractable pencil form with a colour coordinated bottom. If you keep them upside down, you will be able to spot the shade you want easily. The bottom also houses the sharpener. It comes packaged in a white cardboard exterior packaging, standard but functional packaging.

Shade: The shade “Turquoise” is exactly that – a bluish turquoise. It is a medium, bright, lightly pastel turquoise-blue shade. I love coloured pencil liners, as accent shade for my lower waterline or lower lashline, so the shade needs to be bright enough to really pop, and this turquoise sure fits the bill. The shade may not be for everyone because it’s bright and clearly visible. People generally prefer to opt for deeper blues and greens and browns instead, but it sure is a fun shade.

Texture: The texture of the liner is smooth and creamy without feeling too slippery, so while it glides on smoothly on the skin, it does not have too much slip. Nor is it too firm that you feel the drag on your sensitive lashline/waterline. Also, strangely enough, it does not skip colour while applying – even on the waterline – which is pretty unheard of, right? It has good pigmentation and goes full colour in a couple of quick swipes. It dries down fairly quickly. Once set, it’s budgeproof. It is definitely waterproof and just does not budge, once set – even from the waterline. No feathering into the fine lines or smudging either. I’ve had it for over a year – its still as creamy smooth as when I first bought it. It has not dried out as most long-wearing eye/lip products tend to do. I think the texture of this product is what really elevates it from any other product in the market.

Pigmentation: Pigmentation is very good. There is no going back and forth again and again. There is no need to apply in short tiny strokes and build a you go. A couple of quick clean swipes and you have full pigmentation.

Lasting Power: Once set, this does not move. It is waterproof, budge proof, and fairly smudge proof. It will last you the whole day and you will need to remove it with a waterproof makeup remover. It will not come off otherwise.

• I’ve had it for over a year – its still as creamy smooth as when I first bought it.

Cons of Givenchy Khol Couture Waterproof Retractable Eyeliner 03 Turquoise:

• Limited shade range.
